Ok so there's a lot of hype surrounding today because its...

06-06-06!
I personally don't see what all the hype is about. Now if it were 11-11-11 then I would freak and join the parading losers with the end of the world signs.
But then I figured out what the fuss was about. What is always behind any big hype in America? Money baby...m-o-n-e-y!
Am I just being cynical? Then check this out.
There is a place (sounds like the beginning of a voice over for a bad trailer) in Michigan called Hell. Yes, the city is called Hell 60 miles west of Detroit.
Now the mayor (and coincidentally the owner of the local souvenir shop) has ordered cash-in "666" t-shirts. Now he has only ordered 666 of these shirts that come with an authentic letter saying you spent 666 in Hell. Naturally the shirts will sell for $6,66.
He also has for sale (cue suspension of disbelief) title deeds to one square inch of hell.
But it's not just a tasteless cash-in. There's fun for the children too.
"Live entertainment and a costume contest are planned. The Gates of Hell should be installed at a children's play area in time for the festivities. 'They're 8 feet tall and 5 foot wide and each gate looks like flames, and when they're closed, it's a devil's head,' Colone told The Detroit News for a Saturday story." (courtesy of Yahoo News)
That's exactly what we should be imprinting on our children. The head of the devil.
And they're all about the fun. They don't expect too many cults or devil worshippers.

Incidentally, I was asked to join an Afrikaans Satanic band called Anbudders Van Satan. That's no joke. One of my school lecturers asked me. I politely declined.
