OMG!! I've just spent 3 days in a mine dump out in the dodgiest areas of Joburg filled with these inbred Afrikaaners with MULLETS!!!! MULLETS I say!!! It has been traumatic carrying loads of film equipment up and down mountains of dust which I'm sure is probably harmful to my body in some way. I've been feeling a bite of the black lung coming on. Cough cough.

But it has been quite interesting though. My reason for being there was to help out on a 3rd year film shoot. Usually helping out teaches you many things. So far I've learnt that mine dumps are literally hell on earth and one should never shoot a movie there unless there is no quicker way of committing suicide. I mean, we get there and there's a dead dog lying on the road. This was in the morning so can you imagine what it smelled like when it hit 35 degrees at lunch. Interesting to say the least. But this of course was superceded by the random guy who comes to the side of the dump to...ummmm...take a dump! Seriously. No toilet paper or anything. Dude just comes, does his business and leaves.
For those of you who know Joburg, we were somewhere between Germiston and Boksburg so you can imagine what it was like.
Traumatic.

And I've still got two days of this left. Nooo!!!!!!!!
