This is when you know the world is coming to an end...
"Move over, American Idol, because America's Got Talent. Grammy winner and television star Brandy, actor and executive producer David Hasselhoff and U.K. television personality Piers Morgan have been named as judges for NBC's upcoming talent-"
God save us all!

So this week's quote comes from my mother dearest (who's still sore about only receiving a hug on Mother's Day - which in my defence was a very nice hug. Warm too). The conversation went something like this:
Me: So tomorrow (Tuesday) I'm going to watch a movie at Sheetal's house.
Mom: So you're telling me we pay school fees so you can go watch movies?
Me: (restraining from sarcasm) Uhhh...yes.
Seems my mother forgets I go to film school. Sigh. Loved aren't I...

Well, there's good news over the hill and not so far away. Radiohead's lead singer Thom Yorke (don't you love the picture) is releasing a solo album in July. Although the singer tries to avoid the project being called a solo album coz "it doesn't sound right" I don't know what else to call it. Maybe we'll call it a flumox.
So his new flumox entitled "The Eraser" is eagerly expected to his stores around July 11 (ONZE!). Radiohead fans do not despair. This does not signal the end of Radiohead. In fact, they are currently working on their seventh album which should follow a few months later. So that's like a double whammy. First a flumox followed by a new Radiohead album.
This year is looking good in terms of music. Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Juliette and the Licks, VHS or Beta and Jars of Clay are set to release their new albums. Can't you feel the tingling in your feet. Oh wait. That just means it's time for my medication...

Do I need to say anything?
"LOS ANGELES -
Paris Hilton unveiled her new video game on Thursday, but inexplicably called it by the wrong name as she greeted throngs of fans and photographers.
Wearing a green minidress and red platform pumps, Hilton made a brief appearance at the Electronic Entertainment Expo to promote "Paris Hilton's Jewel Jam."
"Sorry I'm late," the heiress said. "I'm really excited to have my new video game, 'Diamondquest.' Thank you all for coming, and you can download the game," she said. "
My movie has been selected to be made and I'll be shooting on the 26th of May. It's gonna be one and a half minutes long (that is so much harder than you think) and might be shown at the festival at the end of the year. I'm happy. See my happy face?
This one is courtesy of the great Jack Handy. To see more of his Deep Thoughts click here.

So I'm getting happy to hear that the Chuck Norris wave is dying down. People were starting to take it way too serious. Like my friend Richard and I were quoting some of the famous Chuckisms and a guy next to us was like, "Yeah but serious, do you know that Chuck just got his 8th dan and is the only Westener blah, blah, blah." I got up and hit him with a table. Sprained my wrist in the process. See what the Chuck revival is doing. I'm injured and I didn't even come across the fatal round-house kick.
So now the question remains: will the people making money off the revival (ie Chuck Norris) let the wave run its life and die peacefully or will the industry try and milk it till its dryer than a desert that's been round-house kicked by Chuck himself (see, they have me doing it now). My fear is that just before it dies out completely, we'll see a resurgance of - God forbid - more Chuck Norris movies! Deadly Jungle Massacre 3, Brutal Justice: The Beginning. As a film student, I fear such things greatly. If they do it just right, they'll have a new generation of Chuck supporters which only means one thing: Walker Texas Ranger is back on our screens.
Please just die!
