So the Oscars came and went once more. I feel it’s starting to get like Christmas. You know how Christmas used to be so exciting and you could hardly wait for it and would in fact stay up all night just to catch a glimpse of your parents (aka Santa) coming down the stairs to deliver your gifts. Then after a while, the sparkle kinda faded and you were just left watching your drunken parents prance about in a Santa suit.

In that same way, the Oscars this year - while much more exciting in terms of nominees and competition - just didn't grab my attention the way it used to. It's kinda sad.

But it was still a good oscar year. I mean, with films like Babel, The Departed and Little miss sunshine going head to head, I was torn for a favourite. But I was just blown away by a certain Mr. Scorsese and his film and was glad to hear that it picked up the important awards.

So well done to the Departed!! If you haven't seen it, go out and watch it now. Absolutely spectacular. Hopefully my efforts will be recognized when it's my time. The Departed 2? I think that's recognition guaranteed...
